On September 28, 2026, Lee Eog-weon, chairman of the Financial Services Commission (FSC), announced plans to improve South Korea's capital market during the Korea Premium Weeks 2026 event. He emphasized the importance of unwavering policy support to boost the market's global status.
Lee highlighted the local stock market's recent achievements, including record gains and increased market capitalization. He assured that the government would continue implementing market reforms and promote the capital market to attract more investments.
The Korea Premium Weeks event, organized in collaboration with the Korea Exchange, features participation from 55 listed firms over three weeks. It aims to review capital market reforms and discuss future policies with experts and officials.
Additionally, the event will address corporate governance reforms and explore innovations in the capital market infrastructure, such as extended trading hours and a shorter settlement cycle.
