HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Unveils Smart Safety System

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has announced the development of a smart safety system aimed at creating an accident-free workplace. This initiative is part of the company's broader safety roadmap that extends through 2030.

The company is investing 17 billion won ($12.6 million) this year to implement advanced technologies, including metal surface wave communications and vision sensors. These technologies are designed to eliminate communication dead zones and facilitate rapid alerts and evacuations during emergencies.

Additionally, HD Hyundai will reorganize its safety teams to align with the operational characteristics of each division. A new safety technology division will be established to enhance production technology and on-site inspections.

The introduction of a 'safe work accountability system' will designate safety managers for various tasks, ensuring that both high-risk and routine operations are monitored effectively. By the end of the year, a committee will review safety measures for serious accidents that have occurred over the past decade.
