Doosan to Invest 970 Billion Won to Expand CCL Production Capacity

Doosan Group has announced a significant investment of 970 billion won (approximately $701.5 million) aimed at expanding its production capacity for copper clad laminates (CCL) in South Korea and China. This move comes in response to the increasing demand driven by artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, which rely heavily on CCL for various applications.

The company plans to allocate 420 billion won to enhance its domestic production lines specifically for optical modules, while 550 billion won will be invested in constructing a new facility in China to manufacture CCLs for AI accelerators and network switches. This strategic investment is expected to be executed in phases over the next three years, with new production lines anticipated to commence operations sequentially starting in the latter half of 2028.

CCL is a critical component used in printed circuit boards (PCBs), which are essential for the functioning of AI technologies. As the demand for AI-related infrastructure continues to grow, Doosan's investment reflects its commitment to positioning itself as a leader in the technology sector and meeting the evolving needs of the market.
