LG Unveils World’s First 24.5-Inch 720Hz OLED Panel for Esports

LG Display has officially introduced the world's first 24.5-inch OLED panel with an impressive 720Hz refresh rate, specifically crafted for the esports community. This innovative display promises to elevate gaming experiences by providing the highest refresh rates and lowest response times ever seen in an OLED panel.

The new panel has been integrated into ASUS's ROG Swift OLED PG259QWS Ace and has been selected as the official monitor for the PGL CS2 Major Singapore 2026. While it is not yet available for retail, the technology behind it is set to revolutionize competitive gaming.

Unlike traditional displays that may rely on dual-mode resolutions, this OLED panel operates natively at its maximum refresh rate and resolution, ensuring optimal performance. LG Display has developed a proprietary algorithm that allows the panel to sustain a 720Hz refresh rate even at Full HD (1920x1080) resolution.

With a remarkable response time of just 0.02ms, gamers can expect reduced motion blur and ghosting, enhancing clarity during fast-paced gameplay, such as first-person shooters and racing games. The self-emissive pixels of the OLED technology provide vibrant picture quality, making it appealing to a wide range of gamers.

LG Display plans to expand its offerings with a lineup of displays ranging from 20 to 40 inches, catering to various preferences in the esports market. While pricing and availability details remain undisclosed, the company anticipates launching the OLED display before the end of 2026.
