K-Dramas to Watch in August 2026: Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and More

South Korea's television industry is closing out the summer with one of its busiest release calendars of the year, as five major new titles debut across tvN, SBS and Netflix throughout August 2026. The lineup spans multiple genres, from breezy workplace comedy to hard-edged crime thriller, giving international audiences on Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max plenty of reasons to keep their subscriptions active.

The month opens on August 3 with "My Bias, My Boss" on tvN, also streaming on HBO Max and Viki in select regions. Adapted from a popular webtoon, the office rom-com follows Kim Hye-jun as an ardent fan who joins a fashion startup purely to get closer to her idol, played by Cha Woo-min, only to find herself falling for the company's composed young CEO, portrayed by Kang Hoon. ITZY member Yuna appears in a supporting role, adding extra draw for K-pop fans tuning in.

Four days later, SBS brings back one of its biggest recent action hits with "Flex X Cop Season 2." Ahn Bo-hyun reprises his role as a wealthy heir turned police detective, this time clashing with a demanding new supervisor played by Jung Eun-chae, a former counter-terrorism officer. The series, available internationally through Disney+, promises sharper investigations and guest turns from stars including Yoo Seung-ho.

Netflix rounds out its August slate with two tonally opposite originals. "Our Sticky Love," premiering August 7, stars Jung Hae-in as a former gang member who poses as the boyfriend of an amnesiac prosecutor, played by Ha Young, to shield her from a crime syndicate. Later in the month, on August 28, director Kim Hong-sun—known for "The Guest" and "Money Heist: Korea"—unveils "Mousetrap," a tense crime drama adapted from the webtoon "Field Mouse." Ryu Jun-yeol stars as a novelist whose entire identity is erased by a mysterious figure, forcing him into an uneasy alliance with a loan shark played by Sul Kyung-gu.

Closing the month on August 29 is "Four Hands, Two Sonatas," a youth musical romance airing on tvN and TVING in Korea while streaming globally on Netflix. Song Kang stars as a piano prodigy whose top position at an elite arts high school is challenged by a talented transfer student played by Lee Jun-young, with Jang Gyu-ri completing the central trio as a viola major finding her own voice. The drama's coming-of-age tone has drawn early comparisons to the hit series "Twenty-Five Twenty-One."

Alongside the new premieres, several dramas that debuted in July continue into August, including Netflix's "The Apartment Job" and "Spooky Love," the latter starring Park Eun-bin, as well as the Viki romance "Dream to You" featuring Hyeri and Hwang In-yeop. With originals, sequels and genre experiments all landing in the same month, August 2026 offers one of the most varied K-drama menus of the year for viewers worldwide.
