KB Kookmin Bank is preparing a senior healthcare service that bundles health counseling, hospital bookings and visiting-nurse care with its pension and trust products, aiming to stand out in the retirement wealth-management market.

KB Kookmin Bank, the flagship banking unit of KB Financial Group, is moving to introduce a senior healthcare service for its pension and trust customers as well as high-net-worth clients. The bank is combining finance with health and care offerings in a bid to strengthen its position in the fast-growing market for retirement wealth management.

According to financial industry sources, the lender is currently running a bidding process to select a provider for its planned "2026 Senior Healthcare Service." The goal is to broaden non-financial benefits for older customers and differentiate the bank's retirement products from rivals.

Eligibility is set for customers aged 50 and older, including first-time recipients of the four major public pensions and individual retirement pension (IRP) accounts, KB Star Club VVIP members, and holders of will-substitute trusts. These groups tend to maintain long-term relationships with a bank through asset management and inheritance planning.

The program is expected to offer one-on-one health consultations with doctors and nurses, priority booking for health checkups, and appointment support at major hospitals. For customers diagnosed with serious illnesses such as cancer or brain and heart conditions, a nurse would accompany them through the treatment process, alongside visiting-nurse care, emotional support and transport assistance.

The bank also plans care-oriented services, including psychological counseling for depression, anxiety and stress, professional caregivers during hospital stays, and housekeeping help after discharge. KB Kookmin already runs 13 Golden Life Centers nationwide that focus on wealth management for senior clients.

If launched, the healthcare service would extend the bank's senior offering beyond pensions, inheritance and gifting, and will-substitute trusts to cover health and daily care. Across the banking sector, lenders are increasingly pairing financial and non-financial services to win over older customers.

"Senior customers are a core group whose transactions continue for years, from pension payouts to asset management and inheritance," an industry official said, adding that competition is intensifying as banks bundle everyday services such as health management and care to expand customer touchpoints.
