Hana Financial Group has launched a groupwide campaign through September tied to its planned headquarters move to Cheongna International City in Incheon, offering high-yield savings coupons and an 84 billion won loan partnership to support local small businesses.
Hana Financial Group has kicked off a groupwide promotional campaign to mark its upcoming move to a new headquarters in Cheongna International City, Incheon, the company said. The campaign, which runs through Sept. 30, brings together major affiliates including Hana Bank, Hana Securities, Hana Card and Hana Savings Bank in a coordinated push to strengthen ties with the western port city ahead of the relocation.
As part of the initiative, Hana Bank is distributing preferential-rate savings coupons that lift the annual percentage yield on select deposit products by up to 7 percent. The offer is designed to reward customers who open or add to savings accounts during the campaign period, giving the bank a fresh marketing hook while it builds a local customer base in Incheon.
Hana Bank also signed an 84 billion won ($61 million) guaranteed loan agreement with the Incheon Credit Guarantee Foundation, a move aimed at easing access to credit for small and medium-sized businesses in the region. Under the partnership, the bank plans to roll out a dedicated 10 billion won loan product in August specifically targeting local merchants and small enterprises that often struggle to secure financing through conventional channels.
The relocation to Cheongna, a planned international business district on Incheon's western coast, reflects Hana Financial Group's broader strategy of expanding its footprint beyond Seoul and deepening its presence in one of Korea's fastest-growing economic zones. Incheon has increasingly positioned itself as a hub for logistics, finance and international trade, partly on the strength of its free economic zone status and proximity to Incheon International Airport.
By pairing the headquarters move with tangible financial benefits for local depositors and businesses, Hana Financial Group appears intent on framing the relocation as a mutually beneficial development for the city rather than a purely corporate real estate decision. Group affiliates are expected to roll out additional promotional events tied to the campaign in the coming months as the September deadline approaches.
The financial group's move follows a broader trend among Korean conglomerates and financial institutions to decentralize operations away from central Seoul, as governments and corporations alike look to boost economic activity in surrounding metropolitan areas.
